Difficulties keeping up with the submissions

Hi, hi, it's me. First of all, you might have noticed I haven't been great at keeping up with group submissions for a little while. I am indeed way more busy this year, and it's not going to get any chiller for a ... another little while. If you've had any expired submissions, please do tell me. I manually changed the limit to 1 months, I might have missed some folders. In any case, do let me know if it still expires. I might need help, but who'd want to help someone with such crazy submissions rules?

Encourage a Young Writer! Submissions Wanted!

April 10 is "Encourage a Young Writer Day" and I want to celebrate it here on DA! What is the best piece of writing advice you've received? What is something you've learned along your writing journey? Share it with us! Submit a deviation (not a journal comment!) with your writing advice to encourage new writers, as well as those of us who have been around for awhile. Everyone who submits writing advice will be receive a diamond badge and hype badge. Your advice will be featured in a journal on April 10. Any format your advice takes is allowed! Prose, poetry, a short comic...even an interpretive dance. (It's a bit of a stretch, but if you can make it work, who am I to stop you?) To be eligible to receive badges: :bulletgreen: Submit your advice as a DEVIATION ONLY, not a journal comment. I want to get lots of writing advice out into the world, and only I will see it if it's a journal comment. I also can't feature comments in the same way I can feature deviations in the journal

Create With Pride!

Celebrate Pride Month on DeviantArt! Learn how LGBTQ+ professional artists Create With Pride and join the festivities to get a new profile badge! :createwithpride: In many places around the world, June is recognized as LGBTQ+ Pride Month. While the specific days of celebration may vary, Pride is an opportunity to embrace and highlight the diverse backgrounds and accomplishments of LGBTQ+ people, especially in the world of art. This year, DeviantArt connected with recognizable LGBTQ+ artists in professional creative fields to share what Pride means to them, and how their identity inspires them to create. Each week we’ll share a new journal and new prompt on how to Create With Pride, featuring the creative and talented Fortune Feimster, Alyssa Wong, Allegra Clark, GlitchxCity, and this week’s featured artist, Dax ExclamationPoint! Meet Dax! You may know Dax ExclamationPoint from season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, but this cosplaying queen has had a long history with art in

ArtHeart Vol. 5: Pixel Art

HELLO EVERYONE! :happybounce:  Welcome to a new edition of my ArtHeart Feature!. This month's topic is: PIXEL ART Pixel Art is a form of digital art that allows the creation of images from pixels, through the use of graphics editing software. Images from most old PC video games, game consoles, and many other mobile phone games are considered Pixel Artworks. In addition, it is very similar to Pointillism, a traditional technique that consists of making a drawing or painting by joining hundreds of very small points, but which differ in the tools that are used. Pointillism is done on canvas and with brushes, while Pixel Art is generated by computer. On DeviantArt, you can find a wide variety of amazing pixel images in different sizes (from an icon to a full illustration) and color palettes depending on the theme the artist wants to represent, although most pixel artists use bright colors and flashy. There are many characters (OCs, of a fandom or in anime style), animals,

CSS Tricks: Lists

Lists are awesome :meow: So let's talk about them :D The basic list format is avaiable everywhere on dA, you do not need a premium membership to create a list. Of course you could just use :bulletgreen: or a symbol like ~ to indicate a new list item, but an actual HTML coded list has a lot of benefits over that. Especially when you have single points that exceed a single line a HTML list, a line break appears at a spot you cannot control and therefore you will end up having no indentation and it will just look messy. You don't have to be a Premium Member to use the HTML for lists, see FAQ #104: https://www.deviantart.com/help/104 - What HTML formatting can we use on DeviantArt? And what is the format for these codes? You do need it, if you want to use Journal Skin

Coming from a country where queer people and content are shunned and ridiculed I found I gravitated towards cute and colourful media almost like an act of rebellion. I couldn't be that way on the outside but in the comfort of my sketchbook I could be anything I wanted until one day I was finally able to express who I really was out loud and proud. As I've grown I've dabbled in various mediums and styles and I think I'll always be searching for the perfect fit but for now I'm happy to just ride that artistic roller coaster while letting my roots influence my creations. :createwithpride: What influences you to #CreateWithPride?

Writing Inclusively: Introduction

When you write something to share publicly, there is a whole world that it’s going to interact with. You can’t understand every facet of that world, but you can approach it with awareness and take responsibility for your impact on it. If you’ve ever wondered how to avoid inadvertent insensitivity, or (maybe especially) if you’ve never given it much thought before reading this sentence, the upcoming Writing Inclusively Week articles are for you! Look for these articles from and : On Tuesday, 9/29: @GDeyke and @neurotype write about how to include gender diversity. @akrasiel explains what a sensitivity reader is and why you should use one. On Wednesday, 9/30: @Zara-Arletis shares how to overcome editing bias. @neurotype introduces #OwnVoices and suggestions for writing about marginalized groups. On Thursday, 10/1: @BornWithTheSun helps you recognize abusive relationships in fiction. @JessaMar presents a simple path for providing trigger warnings. We hope you will find all of
